Hello -
Looking to get a mortgage with Pepper.

Presently they are the only ones offering to us.

The product they are offering (variable mortgage) looks equivalent to any other mortgage to my novice eyes.
But I'm slightly concerned about dealing with a company named after a fruit\veg...
They are known for sub prime so does their modus operandi differ widely from other main players (AIB, BOI etc..)
They are obviously regulated and we are dealing with them through a broker.

Does anyone have any thoughts on pepper?

I have used Pepper for lots of cases. They will look at cases that other banks won't...and it's not just for people with less than perfect credit ratings. They also do equity release if you want to buy a holiday home. Rates are competitive enough too.

The biggest downside is they charge an implementation fee. But most people who use them can't get a mortgage anywhere else, so they have no choice but to pay it.

I am looking at an equity release on one property (a rental) to put towards buying a home. Pepper are open to doing this. No other bank will go quite this far.
Their interest rates seem to be the best out there at the moment.
