Hi there,
I was wondering what complications if any I should expect since my wife to be will be resident but not working in the Republic. I work in the Republic myself but we'll be applying for a joint mortgage. Will there be any complications with regard to tax relief on the interest etc. Any other advice or possible problems you can think of would be greatly appreciated.

If one of you is working in the Republic and the property is to be your home here there should be no restrictions other than the standard lending criteria. If your wife has accommodation expenses in the UK they will be taken into account when calculating your maximum mortgage.

Thanks Sarah.
My fiancee is working in England at present and has no accomodation costs. I am working in the republic. when repaying our mortgage will i be able to avail of the tax relief on mortgage interest for both of us or do we both need to be earning in the republic?

Thanks again for the help.
