Parcel delivery delayed from Royal Mail, possibly held at Customs?

We are awaiting a parcel from UK for 11 days now and we were told that it was sent registered. The Royal Mail system tracker just says "We have your item and it's on its way. More information will be available as it travels through our network. International tracked and signed"

We are just wondering at this stage if it is being held by Irish Customs and if we will be getting a postcard from them about any fees due. Is this is the usual procedure these days?

Might already be in anpost's realm - have you tried to use the tracking number with anpost? (long shot)

Ring AP customer service, they are very helpful. We had that same problem a while ago, AP agent said the package had no taric code on the customs label so it was sent back to the seller. AP gave us the correct code and a return tracking number to the uk. The seller re-sent it with the right taric code, delivered no problem.

Hi bipped,

Thanks for that advice. Rang them today and they were, as you say, very helpful. Coincidentally, the Royal Mail tracker was updated today to confirm that it had left Heathrow this afternoon, an amazing 11 days after it was received  Snail mail as they say.

Hopefully Customs and An Post will be a little speedier. Will use their system from here on out.

Thanks again.
