Painting Car Bumpers

I have faded bumpers on my car and want to spray them myself, using cans
i have tried back to black but think thy were origonally dark grey so they wont com up nice.
they are not hard plastic. will spray paint stay on them or can i prime them with something?

Don't spray paint from a can on the bumpers, because if will come off with the first power wash in a few days.

there are special additives for the paint and cleaners you need before spraying, to be honest get a paint shop to do it.
there might be more modern paint that other people use now.
but to be honest its more hassle than its worth imo
