I want to buy nordic poles that are cork handled, clips and collapsible to fit in a 10 kg case. Not having any luck buying in Ireland. Anyone out there who can help ?

Assuming the 10kg bag refers to airline cabin baggage, check your airline, most prohibit trekking poles onboard.

The folding ones tend to be more compact when folded, but those tend to be aimed at the ultralight purchaser (ultra running) and so often go for a lighter weight grip. Most of the telescopic poles tend to be longer than 50cm making fitting within a carry-on problematic.

Leki's Ultratrail pack down to 35cm and have a light cork padding on the handle but at a cost. Cotsworlds have a couple of shops in Dublin, they are unlikely to have that on display but may get some in for you to try out.

When used correctly, the comfort of the strap is a more important concern as weight should be carried just above the wrist so as not to fatigue smaller muscle groups.

Look for Z poles. Most of the manufacturers have these models (Leki, Black Diamond, Komperdell). These types fold quite small and can go via carry on luggage.
