Non-resident mortgage protection

Hi,

I have an Irish Life mortgage protection policy. I took it out while still resident in Ireland. About 6 years after it was taken out, I moved overseas and became non-resident. Does anyone know (in general) if becoming non-resident invalidates this policy? The mortgage is on an Irish property, through an Irish bank and all payments come out of an Irish bank account (both mortgage and insurance)

You need to read the terms and conditions of the policy as they differ depending on insurer. In most cases, moving abroad will not invalidate the policy but I don't use Irish Life (too expensive) so I can't say specifically for them.
