Need recommendation for basic guide to accounting

Hi,

I'm not sure if this is the best forum to post this in - maybe it should be in work, careers, employment..but here goes

I've recently started a job doing the accounts payable in the finance & accounting dept for a number of related companies. While my previous jobs required a good head for figures and finance, I have no previous accounting experience. A large portion of the day-to-day work is grand but I'm lost when it comes to the different accounting terms and lingo.

Can anyone recommend a good basic guide to accounting for someone with no previous experience?

Try the internet there is alot of info about accounting easily available

Post some questions here

Look in business/school section in book shop there will be loads of accounting texts at all different levels
