We are in a similar situation to many people - we bought our house in 2006, and now it is worth substantially less than we paid for it - about 60k. Now we have decided that we want to move out of the house, and rent a bigger house in the country, and so we have to rent out our own house.
What is involved with being a landlord?
Do you have to register as one?
Do you have to pax tax on rent?
The rent we will get will not cover the mortgage, so we will have to subsidize it by about €100 a month.
