Mortgage Payment Break

I have had my 35 year mortgage with AIB for almost 2 years. I am currently availing of a 12 month period of interest only repayments. I am currently switching jobs which means I wont get paid for between 6-8 weeks and my rent a room tenant has announced that he is moving out in 4 weeks time.

If I wrote to AIB explaining this situation could they give me a break of one or two months from my mortgage repayments?
 
You'll need to ring them directly - no one will be able to give you a definative answer as it's down to the bank. Do you have any savings that could tide you over for a couple of months?

Does the bank not require a request in writing?

As regards savings, i am 25 year old homeowner living in Dublin with a car and a 9 month old baby................saving is impossible!!
 
To make it official - yes. But to find out if they will just call them for an indication as to whether they will or not.
