Mortgage arrears: Legal action soon to commence against me (Ontario Canada)

Hello,

New to this forum. Please help me deal with a difficult situation.

Basically, in mid 2013, my employer locked us out during a labour dispute for 2 months. Things have since returned back to normal, but it wreaked havoc on my finances. I did my best to pay all of my debts in full, but it fell behind and several of my accounts went into collections. I am in the process of negotiating a settlement payment with them that will accept less than 100 cents to the dollar. However, that is the least of my worries.

My mortgage payments fell i arrears, 2 months late, then 3, then I brought it back to 2, and now it fell to 4. The high interest on the credit cards hit me hard and put my finances in havoc. As of today, I received a letter from a lawyer represented by my bank lender demanding payment within 5 days or else they will commence legal action.

To be 100% honest, I can manage to double up on the payments until paid in full, but the bank said they won't speak to me anymore and to speak with the lawyer.

Any advice to get me out of this situation will be greatly appreciated!
