what is the best and the cheapest way to get to mexico, thinking of going there for a holiday thanks in advance
 
Big assumption, are you going to Cancun? If so then the bigger holidays operators would provide flight details, more than likely through London or Paris (possibly Amsterdam or Frankfurt). I flew to Mexico City a few times last year with Continental, BA and Air France, BA won hands down. Mexico City is probably the best place to start if you are trekking around the country. As usual www.lonelyplanet.com and www.tripadvisor.com should be used to get you started.

Walk over border from SanDiego CA to Tijuana is free.

I know Tijuana probably doesnt accurately represent Mexico but it is an interesting place all the same.

Once rented a car in Tijuana and drove down Mexican coast about 100 miles or so to place called Ensenada. Nice place. Coastline on way down stunning.

If you want a good holiday I would reccomend following:

Go to California.

Drive

San Diego - wonderful place
LA OK
Las Vegas Great place
Grand CanYon Great
Baja California (part of Mexico described above)

What more could you want.
