My daugher worked in Uk with same company from January 2020 to March 2023 The last year from March 2022 she worked remotely from Ireland which the company agreed to.

The company then decided that they did not want to employ her outside Uk but instead asked her to register as self employed here in Ireland. She has done this and worked for them on contract basis since March until August 2023.

She was pregnant at time she changed over to being self employed and has had the baby recently ...... will she be able to get maternity benefit from Uk?

Thanks for links and she has done some investigation but it seems complicated -

She got this message from Benefits Department for Work and Pensions UK - she has started a claim in Uk

"your claim has been sent to this office to investigate whether you are lastly employed in UK or Ireland.
You have advised that you have been registered as self-employed in Ireland since 20/03/2023. Have you had any employment since registering as self-employed which would attract tax or insurance"

Just wondering if anyone is has had any experience like this and grateful for any help on how to proceed.

I don't understand what's complicated. She addresses the questions asked by the UK DWP and they'll presumably tell her if she qualifies?
