I've just logged on to pay the 2014 bill but there's no facility to do so yet. I've looked at the key dates - 1st, 7th & 28th November 2013 - but there's no mention of when next year's bill can be paid.

For the self-employed, I don't have Form 11 (tax return) to hand but does any provision have to be made on the return for the LPT?

    Thanks in advance

Yeah, I saw all of that but I want to pay the bill now in full but can't find the facility to do so or date when I can.

Well if it's like the NPPR you cannot pay in advance. It's best not to try going around revenue systems, you'll only end up in a mess.

I think for vast majority of people Revenue will be in contact soon to ascertain their wishes in regard to payment. Personally i will be opting for monthly payment.

Liability doesn't start till Nov 1st - so I guess they won't accept payments till then? The Revenue are sending out letters very soon according to that link - asking anyone who didn't pay by direct debit or deductions at source to confirm payment for 2014.

LPT online looks like they are accepting 2014 method of payment changes now. They may even be taking 2014 payments (I didn't try!)
If you don't want to have to pay by Nov 27th - now is the time to request direct debits.

I did my 2014 LPT payment on ROS today, electing for the SDA payment on 21/03/2014.

+1. Gave Revenue the authority for single DD next March. All went smoothly.

My Mother got a letter from Revenue today and intends to pay with Visa Debit. It's not clear if it's due on 27 November 2013 or you just have to tell them by this date how you want to pay. Anyone clarity on this?

Visa Debit payment is a payment from her bank account. Just set up a Single Debit Authority online and the SDA payment will be taken on 21/03/2014. It only takes a couple of minutes to set up.

Steiner she prefers using the Visa Debit Card and I'm just trying to get the actual last date that this can be done. Is it 27 November 2013 or 1 Jan 2014 or some other date?

27 November is the last date for selecting payment method online

and the date you select the debit/credit card payment type is the date the card will be charged, so yes 27 November.

Thanks Steiner - Revenue letter is poorly worded - "select and commit" - so commit actually means you give your card details etc. and you actually pay the tax.

    Hi
I paid my property tax for 2013 by cash at the post office - I paid it all in full at that time in the one payment
I was planning to pay it in cash in full in the post office again for the 2014 liability
If paying in cash at the post office - when do I need to have it paid by using this method for 2014 liability ?
    Thanks

Final date for payment all at once is 1st Jan 2014.
If you don't want to pay in 2013, what about selecting monthly payments by service provider, and then paying the total amount at the PO mid-January?

Not much will happen if you are late paying. If you pay something in Jan and then pay the rest later in the year - the worst you can expect is a reminder letter.
