I am currently importing goods from the UK, I am paying VAT on the them in the UK what other costs besides shipping do I need to consider for importing them, it is a type of clothing that I am bringing in. Apologies for the rookie question.
If you aregistered for VAT in Ireland, you should quote your VAT number and then you can import them free of UK VAT, and will have to reverse charge your VAT on your VAT return.
Yes you should not be paying UK VAT if you have an Irish VAT number. You may be able to get the UK supplier to issue you with A credit note for the VAT already charged.
