Today I received a Civil Bill with regard to a €6000 debt to BOI credit card. I am 62 years old, unemployed and unlikely to become employed again. Although I do not deny I owe the money I do not want them to get judgement by default. I see I am supposed to enter an appearance. My only defence such as it is, is that I cannot afford to pay them. I must add that I have already been the MABS route (great people) and did pay what I could for about 3 years but with all the SW cuts I cannot even afford to pay that any more. What do I do now?
