How long wait with SDCC Affordable housing

Hi,

I have been approved by South Dublin Co. Co. for affordable housing as a single person, I am wondering how long before people were offered accommodation by them in the past? Anyone any idea the reason I ask is I am planning to take a career break in around a month all going well and I am trying to decide whether to take a year or a year and a half any help greatly appreciated,

I applied a few weeks ago, but have not heard anything since. From what I read in past posts, I think it takes about 6 weeks for them to process yoru application, and getting a property takes about 9 - 12 months. It also depends on which area you are looking for and how fussy you are. I also think if you refuse their first offer they put you back on the bottom of their list (unlike Fingal). Your approval only lasts 12 months and if you have not got somewhere by then you have to re-apply.
