House/land insurance in Galway

We have bought a house on 7 acres in galway. House, original built in 1910, needs renovations and an extension built in coming months. No-one living there right now.

I have been calling around and am having difficulty finding someone to insure it. Problem is either that no-one living there or the renovations or the size of the plot or age of property.

Would appreciate any recommendations of company that would insure the property?

Any company that does unoccupied properties - like Kidd Insurances. Or OBF.

I second Kidd insurance also try frost insurance.ie, kelleher insurance.ie, sheridan-colohan.ie, wexford insurance.com, hooper doolan, keystone, campion, fbd, travelers and last but not least try arachas.ie who are very good.

I suppose one could ask the question, have you bought a site with a ruin, or a house needing renovation?
