Hi,
We sold land to a builder for a cash sum plus one of the finished houses.

The builder went out of business before the estate was finished. The bank has sold the remaining houses but the revenue has a lien on our house meaning we are in limbo with an unfinished house.

Any idea what we need to do to progress this? We have tried contacting the Revenue several times but they have yet to respond to us.

What was the nature of the agreement?

How can the Revenue have a Lien on "our house"? Did you not own the site and contract the builder to build you a house?

If the builder said I'll give you a finished house and you did not get any security then you will rank behind Revenue as they are a preferred creditor I'd imagine.

You need to talk to your solicitor.
