My car failed the NCT on the handbrake. It just made enough effort (17%, 16% required) but the imbalance was too high @ 68% (max. 50%). Ideally I'll avoid leaving the car in anywhere so I'm wondering whether, if I just tighten up the adjuster bolt at the back of the handbrake, will that make a difference (enough to pass) or not?
