I'm having an issue with an estate agent in the north.

I was selling my house and had sale agreed on an offer. I pulled out however as the house i was moving to, fell through, the deal that is.

I am now being taken to small claims court over this. I never signed any documentation to the estate agent and the price was never mentioned. They are trying to charge me £1,200 sterling!

Any body ever experience anything like this ???
 
Do you mean in the NI Small Claims Court because down here the SCC does not deal with such cases - just consumer to business claims. Glancing at [broken link removed] suggests that the same sort of limitations would apply to cases that the NI SCC will handle too.
 
The original title of your thread sounded like an ad for an escort agency or the like!

Does the £1,200 relate to professional fees or to advertising done on your behalf? I'd imagine if it's the latter you will be ordered to pay them. If it's fees you should fight it.
