Equity release

Father died several ago and mother naturally inherited the house.
A separated sister with child moved home, and my 80yr old mother wants to Help out to the tune of €200,000 on a €600,000 house to help her daughter buy a house nearby.
can the remaining 6 children object legally to the equity release on the basis that it slowly erodes the overall value of the home and thereby negates our father's wishes of equal division of house assests amongst the 7 siblings.

any info would be appreciated.

Does mother own the house outright?

If yes, frankly she can give it to the Cats and Dogs home and no one can say a word to her! It is hers, entirely and completely.

However, if she does not own it outright but has, for instance, only a life interest or a right of residence, then the only people who can do an equity release are the outright owners with her joining in.
