Eligible for State Pension

My wife and I are both Civil Servants. I pay a D class stamp while my wife pays a B class stamp. My wife opted out of the spouse and children scheme.

I also have a farm and house rental income and make a tax return paying PRSI etc. My understanding is that this will make me eligible for a contributory state pension in addition to my civil service pension.

Is there any way that my wife could pay a stamp which would make her eligible for a state contributory pension. At the moment the tax return is made in my name but my wife owns the house which is rented out

As I understand it Class B or D contributors can't pay Class S PRSI at the same time as Class B or D.

If the property is in her name then the income is hers and not yours and your doing the return wrong.
