Electronic hard water softener

Has anybody any experience with using this type of hard water treatment. The theory about how it works sounds a bit witch doctorish.

Johnthorn,I would be interested to see what sort of prices you are being quoted.I was quoted 1350 but I can buy the water softners from the UK for about 400 Euro.www.lifescience.co.uk.The only concern I have is how to power them and where to situate them.
