Credit Issues and Mortgage Approval

As a student I incurred some credit card and overdraft issues. All the debts have now been paid off. I have a job as an accountant with a large accountancy firm. I was wondering if anybody could advise me as to whether or not an application would be successful with a prime lender? I understand that it will depend on more than the above but I was wondering how important banks consider debts that occured as a student. Thanks in advance for any help
 
There isn't really enough information here to give you an accurate answer.

You could request a copy of your ICB report and see what (if anything) has been listed.
 
When did you make the final payment on the debt? The loan will stay on the ICB (Irish Credit Bureau) for 5 years after this date.
