How do you go about getting a copy of a will.
Deceased lived in Cork but the will was sent to Dublin for probate.
The person died in 2012. TIA.

Contact the Probate Office. Once the will has been admitted to probate it is a publically available document. There is a small fee.

Looks like a copy will fee is about €10.00 and likewise for a copy of the Grant of Probate. I would ask for both as the Grant of Probate will tell you who the executors are and the value of the estate if this is relevant to you. The Probate Office will tell you what the right fee is.

So you don't need to have any connection with the deceased who wrote the will and as a complete stranger anyone can pay and view a will. Did not know that

Correct.

One the will is admitted to probate it and the grant of probate then become public documents which any person can see. No cause for viewing needs to be established. Before probate is granted the will is a private document.
