Any help appreciated , have a compaq evo laptop but all of a sudden no discs will load /play etc ,trying to install norton etc and nothing happening wondering if i can do anything myself to fix it ? Thanx
Is it a CD slot or a tray?
If its a slot, does it accept the CD so it goes all the way in where the slot motor takes its the last inch or so?
If the Cd is in, is it whirring so you know the cd motor is working?
How old is the laptop?
Have you tried cleaning the CD player, the lense sometimes get dirty and wont read.
Did you check if youd set "autoplay CDs" to not autoplay?
Can you click on the D: in explorer and access it that way?
