Hi I work full time and claim FIS with my wife and children being dependents. Last year my mother was diagnosed with cancer and since that time my wife has been spending most days at my parents house helping with household chores and helping my father care for her.
I should add that my parents are both pensioners.
Just this week my wife was asked is she getting carers allowance and hence was advised to claim, however if she applies for carers allowance would this effect our FIS claim ?
