Buying in Loughlinstown - Commons Road

Hi,
We're looking to buy in Commons Road in Loghlinstown but we don't know. A few questions I'd like to ask:
Noticed quite a high slope, so wondering if it is at risk of flooding.
Do houses there have good foundations in this area? We will definitely request a survey but just wondering if anyone has had any experience on this.
We are moving with young children going to primary school, any on good schools in the area? Is it safe for kids to go to school by their own or is it risky?
 
Looked at a house there before and attempted to get a quote for insurance but the website couldn't quote and said to call so I would check that to make sure you can get reasonable cover as the area has flooded in the past. I would say the local schools are not really kid's walking alone distance from there, test it out first with your kids to get a realistic view on this - also double check the catchment of the address as you may be limited to one school. Best of luck with it, if it's the place I am thinking of it is gorgeous and the locality is amazing.
