Black dots/spots-not mouse droppings??

hi there,
In the past few days,have noticed black spots/dots on skirting board, tiled floor, alarm box on wall in the hall,bathroom tiles.....now it does come off with a wipe with a damp cloth but concerned as to the nature of it...

its definitely not mouse droppings or rat doo....its like a small group of 20dots/spots, almost like an oily substance,could it be from light fittings,wall lights,alarm etc???

Since the poster is saying 'dots' it could be midges - as opposed to anything larger.

Make sure all windows are closed by about 18:30 (until the weather gets colder)

Especially if there are trees nearby.

A Bat maybe ? And if it is, don't worry too much about it. Bats get a very bad press. He probably strayed in an open window, and will be off out again in search of food - winged insects. You have nothing in your house to make him want to stay, unlike mice, rats and flies.

Check for a spider web above the marked area.

Mould perhaps? Paticularly if there has been a lot of condensation from cooking/showers.
