Basic question on claiming mileage and subsistence

As an employee and director of a company, if I am driving in my own personal car from Dublin to a business meeting in Galway and back, are the following legitimate mileage + subsistence + expense payments that can be made tax free from the company to me?

- Mileage: 400km x .4625c (1400cc car) = €185
- Subsistence: €14.01 (5hr < 10hr day allowance)
- Any food expenses incurred during the trip

As I understand it, as long as you aren't making trips between work and home and you aren't using a company car, you can claim for mileage for business trips?

In principal the payment of mileage and subsistence up to the civil service rates can be paid tax free.

Mileage and subsistence cover the expenses so you don't get any thing for meals.

If you are a one man band you need to consider the implications of the contractors project and your place of work.
