On behalf of my good buddy and neighbour i would like to ask this.He had a small business/sole trader and things were grand until he was diagnosed with cancer.He had chemo over the course of a year then a major operation putting him out of work for a while.The people who owed him money took this oppurtunity to NOT pay their debts.The overdraft he was using whilst working ,he was unable to clear because of non -payment by those people.Now he has no earnings whatsoever,still owed money and the Bank are reviewing his A/C. i.e looking for payment or turn it into personal loan.The amount is 6000 euro.He is in recovery and doesnt need this,debtors wont/cant pay.He has no savings now and a paltry income from disability allowance.We have sat down and juggled figures every way but to pay even 25-20 euro is the difference in being able to pay heating/electricity in his home.Would the bank chase him for non payment or would they write it off ???????
