Asking for mortgage top-up before building is complete?

I'm currently self-building and am soon to get my second stage payment draw down on my mortgage. However, I realise now that I need more money! Can I ask for a top-up now when the house is only at the roof-complete stage?
 
Hi Deeta,

It depends on your repayment capacity. Lots of people re-apply for further funds when building, due to cost over-runs etc. Talk to your broker.
 
Thanks - i currently have €130 grand borrowed and I want another €50 grand. I'm on €28 grand a year??
I'll check with my bank but just putting the feelers our first!
