Have apartment rented out. Block insurance under maintenance fees in place.
Looking for what type of basic insurance for the unit itself should I be looking for when seeking a quote and what insurers offer best value.
Thanks in advance.

You only need contents cover. This will cover your public liability responsibility as a landlord.

thanks for reply do I need contents+public liability. Or does contents cover both? Cheers

Landlord contents policy will cover your public liability as a property owner. You can also get one product that covers your block insurance excess in the event of a claim as some insurers have excesses that are about 5k on block policies.

thanks enjoy your weekend

One insurer will cover your block policy excess and include your fixed items (flooring, built in appliances etc.) as your contents, which is important as if you go to claim off your block policy you will have a large excess. They will also offer accidental damage cover from tenants. The policy is with Cover centre but is underwritten by Zurich.
