AIB overpayment up to €5k only allowed to reduce monthly repayment

Normally with AIB you had an option when overpaying. Either reduce monthly premium or reduce term. I prefer reducing the term.
Every time I did this the calculated breakage change worked out as ZERO.

According to AIB today any overpayment up to 5k will only reduce the monthly premium.
