Affordable Housing and Payrises

Hi everyone,

I've been approved for Affordable housing in both Fingal and South Dublin. I've just had a fairly hefty payrise, but am still within the income limits for Affordable Housing. Should I inform the county councils of my payrise as it now means I can afford to pay back a bigger mortgage?

Yes you should inform the councils re your payrise, send them in a fax. If they know you are earning more money, you will be able to pay a bigger mortgage and entitled to be offered more expensive properties. The same thing happened to me a few weeks ago and I phoned and was told to send in a fax stating what my income now was etc.

I concur with Topgal.
I was told at my interview to inform the council straightway of any pay rises, not sure how it affects your loan approval amount though.
