Acquiring a Car loan in Scotland as an Irish Citizen.

I am moving to Scotland from Ireland for my first job. I need to buy a car over there quite quickly. However, I have been told that I will have difficulty acquiring finance/loan in the dealership without a UK credit history. I am unable to open a UK bank account until I have moved there. Does anyone have any experience or tips on the best way of going about this?

If you don't get an answer here, you might have better luck on UK websites, as this is a common issue even for returning ex-pats.
The bottom end of the UK finance market charge >30% APR on car finance. Avoid if possible.

One option is to take a long term car lease until you get established over there. More common than here, you can get 3, 6, 12 months leases.
