Help with DVD burning

I have spent a long time compiling a wedding MPEG2 for a friend who is waiting hard for it. WHen I burned it on Roxio nine at critical points the movie and sound "catches" and to a prefectionist like me absolutely drives me nuts after the literally 100's of hours I have put into it. The movie plays fine pre-burn on medial player. I wondered is there such a think as a good free DVD burn software that might do it better than Roxio??? Many thanks.

Firstly, are you using good quality DVD-R media?

I've found DVDflick to be very good (albeit slow!) for converting DivX .avi, .mp4 and other filetypes to DVD. I know your .mpeg2 files don't strictly speaking need converting, but it might be worth a try?

Alternatively, you could try building a new .iso file with Imgburn.

I use DVDFab with blank Taiyo Yuden disks.
After much trial and error this combination works perfect every time (for me!)

Just started to use ProShowProducer to make slideshows but having difficulty when trying to send slideslow to create DVD. The entire computer seems to freeze. Any ideas what the problem might be? Is it a memory or hard drive problem?
