I don't think there is a minimum if you aren't married, check out http://www.citizensinformation.ie/ca...rm=maintenance might be something useful here. Also you might be entitled to Family Income Support (FIS) etc? Contact social welfare and see if you are claiming everything you are entitled too.

There is no minimum amount, regardless of whether or not the parents are married to each other. Guardianship is not relevant. Maintenance is based on both parents income and expenditure.

The maximum amount that can be awarded in District Court is €150 per child per week; for higher amounts an application to the Circuit Court is required.

See www.solo.ie for a good spread sheet on calculating maintenance.

You can make the application for maintenance yourself, you'll find the Court Clerks in the District Court quite helpful on how to complete the documentation though they can't give legal advice, so you don't need a Soltr.

Jaid, not answering for Kildrought, just have used this myself so you can find it if you use the Link from Kildrought, go the left hand side and click on 'questions about maintenance', then again click on the left hand side of page 'Weekly Expenditure Listing' click on that and then about half way down that page you choose either Excel or MS Word.

Tracybere, your weekly/monthly maintenance payment should include these expenses - check out the spread sheet referenced above.

humahh, are you're claiming your Single Parent Tax Credits? Just a reminder in case you're not.
