ok here's the thing. We've been considering buying a holiday home and a few friends have suggested that given the age of our kids 3.5, 2.5, 7 months that we would be better off doing the "mobile home" thing as it is better for meeting other kids etc.

I've never (for no reason) given any thought to a mobile home but am now curious.

Anyone have any experience? Good or Bad. We would be looking at the wexford / waterford coast.

Thanks a million.

We have one in Blackwater village just outside Wexford. The Mobile Home is fantastic. The grounds are really lovely playground, tennis courts, football pitch etc. The gardens are really well maintained. We are 2 min walk to the village where there are some nice pubs and a hotel. The nearest beach is walking distance however it is a long walk about 35 mins so a car is needed. Even nicer beaches 10 min drive away. We decided on a mobile home in the villlage so as we are near all facilities. you can be a bit stranded in a home by the beach (If it rains). Best decsion we ever made. Lovely drives around Wexford for days out - John F Kennedy Park, Kilimore quay etc. We go down to Wexford quite a lot and we travel from Galway. Highly recommend Wexford area............

spent summer hols in mobile for about 15 yrs-its great. very cozy and you do manage the space well. also if its not fixed in one spot you wont get bored. its also cheaper than a holiday home.

forgot...courtown has lost alot of its charm-im being polite so as not to offend any locals, but alot of dubliners coming there for years has sort of ruined it a bit. i was one of those dubliners btw.
the hook hd is great, still very good.lots to do.

Does anybody know if there are any mobile home parks in Galway that might have available sites.

There was a lot of discussion on Liveline yesterday about mobile home parks and people being kicked off sites after 20 years renting. Might be worth keeping in mind.
