Default Anyone know the Irish Nationwide/IBRC mortgage rate?

Anyone out there with a home loan from the former Irish Nationwide?

What rate are you paying?

Brendan

Hey Brendan I'm told my Rate is 3.95 % but I am currently disputing this as my monthly repayments on a balance of 62,000 with 8 years left on a 20 year mortgage is 801.45 per month

Hi Principle

Did you get a letter from IBRC with a notification of a rate change?

Are there any complicating issues such as arrears or insurance?

The Irish Nationwide system was extremely prone to error, so you should pursue this.

This is not relevant.

We need to know
  • The current balance.
  • The term left
  • The interest rate

Hi Brendan

Our Nationwide interest rate is 3.65%.

I heard you on the radio this morning suggesting that if IBRC are going to sell the mortgages off at big discounts, they should offer these discounts directly to customers. Our mortgage has €20,000 outstanding. Who should we talk to about getting a discount if we pay it off. I phoned IBRC mortgage redemption line and they seem to have a script and said there is no discount.

Thanks you.
Fee

Hi Fee

I presume that there is no discount, but I think that IN borrowers should start campaigning for this. It makes no sense for IBRC to sell your mortgage to someone else at a discount. Why not give it to you instead?

Thanks Brendan,

I agree - the customers deserve the discount. But where best to target campaigning? Would be grateful for suggestions.
