Bank house sale and status of fixtures and fittings

My mother has put in the highest bid on a property, which the estate agent said they will recommend to the bank selling the property. The house had been let when she saw it and she has been told by the former tenant that all the white goods and some fixtures and fittings (including the shower doors!) have been removed. When a bank is selling a property, I presume the assumption is that it is sold as seen?

I'd say the exact opposite! One of the reasons why buying a "repo" or "firesale" property may have a significant downside.

Since your mother is only at the offer stage, she does not have to proceed.
