I haven't sailed on Thomson but would observe it is an old ship and a UK centred cruise experience. Good for familiar food and entertainment but less luxurious cruising, few if any balcony staterooms, experience than, say, Royal Carribbean or Norwegian and they are considered entry level cruise experiences, but considered superior to Costa and MSC, although that may be a US viewpoint.
