Passport issue date

Tracking my son's passport application. Needed for travel on Tuesday, 1st July. Status shows issue date 26.06.14 (Thursday). Dealing with application through Cork Passport office.

Will it be mailed out Thursday?

Getting anxious at this stage so need advice.

I'd suggest you ring them and arrange for it to be picked up on Friday.
It will probably be ok - but if there's any delay and you don't get it Monday it will probably be somewhere in the post and be too late to do anything about it.

Agree with Peno. I applied for a passport for my daughter on 20th May and the website showed issue date of 3rd June - 10 days after I applied. It actually took 15 days in the end but the website issue date was never updated from showing June 3rd.

Thanks for replies. Today's tracking shows that passport has been printed so I understand that mailing is next step and should be tomorrow (hopefully).

Fingers crossed for you! You can register an email address that the passport office will send an email to when the passport has been delivered. Mine came in no time once it had been marked as printed. You did well getting yours on time!
