However, on another note, having an alarm taken into account when shopping for home insurance could trip you up - as if the alarm is not activated at the time of a break-in (should it happen), the insurance company can wash their hands of it.Hi,
We are in the middle of a build & our electrician has put in a quote for the house alarm which seems quite reasonable (relative), the only thing is he's not registered, will this be a problem when getting house insurance?

Thats fine if you chose to put your own in. But otherwise alarm instalers must be registered with the PSA under Private Security Services Act.
