Who is lending?

Looking for information: 1 Person has contract only guaranteeing 15 hrs work, although past years has 35 hrs each week, 2nd person full-time permanent job. Banks approached will not accept that person no.1 will be working on the same basis for forseeable future - so mort applications not actually rejected but offering miniscule amounts. Have savings history & good amount paid for deposit, paying rent - is there any way out of this?

Big difficulty in obtaining mortgage from any institution on the basis of contract employment. It's unfortunate from the perspective of those working on a contract basis, but unlikely to change in the short term!
