09 Reg NCT

Hi

I was looking at an online ad for an 09 car. It says the NCT is due in Sept 14.

I was wondering how that would be possible. 09's would be due in '13 and then '15, '17 etc

Unless the car is an import and only got an 09 plate when imported. Is that possible?

Or the NCT testing dates have changed since this car was registered. Although I 'm not aware the intervals changed.

My car is an import (2010) and is due for NCT in 2014 - would imagine it's either an error in the ad or a dodgy salesperson..

It's wrong.
My car is a 09 import (imported it last month). The NCT is booked for January 2014 (the earliest date I could get).

The car was first registered in Sept '09 so the NCT was already due (Sept 13) when I re-registered it.

So it's probably a typo on the ad.

By the way, being an import makes no difference to the NCT date, a car initially sold in 09 abroad will get an 09 Irish plate when it is registered in Ireland.

Iv a 09, NCTed last july!!!
