Hi,

I've been dealing with a solicitor on a property matter with an ex over the last 2 years but I'm unhappy with the progress. Does anyone know how difficult it is to change solicitor? Are there any legal matters that need to be dealt with?

I presumed it would be a matter of requesting a copy of all correspondents between my solicitor and the other party’s solicitor and then pay what I owe and move on to someone new?

I changed solicitors in the past without any hassle. Your new solicitor will request all the papers from your former solicitor and take it from there. You will need to pay your old solicitor for any work done so far but it may be worth it just to get things moving again.

I can recommend a good solicitor, (Tom Conlon, http://www.conlon.ie/
dealt with on the purchase of a property - he is based in the Dublin city area . Will provide a breakdown of fees etc.,at first meeting.
Hope this helps and good luck with the property.
