Open University - Anyone studied for a degree with a related degree already?

I really want to study pure maths, with an aim to do a full-time masters down the road. This is purely for myself, nothing to do with career.

I have an honours degree ( not a high one though ) in Actuarial Maths and Stats and am a qualified actuary.

Not really enough pure maths content to go onto a masters in pure maths of some form - so think I need to go back and do a degree.

I assume I'll get some credit for my previous studies in the OU.

Has anyone done this - and how much did it cut out of the degree?

Open University can give you a really quick answer to this if you give them a ring.
When I enquired I found that it would still take a few years to do a degree with them part-time even with exemptions. They have core modules that you have to do regardless of what you have covered already.

Also be aware that there is a time limit. I think my primary degree did not count for an exemption because I graduated more than 10 years ago.

it all depends on the courses done and the course you are doing. You need to speak to the OU. Nobody here can tell you what they will give you credit for
