Looking to travel to Brisbane next year with my wife and 2 teenagers.
Maybe hire a camper van to travel to Cairns. Anyone who had this experience.
Otherwise we may hire a car and stay in b&bs along the way.
Again, any advice would be appreciated.
Probably going in July

It's been a while since I've been in Australia (2012) but going camping is what I would do. It's better craic. You can stop where ever you want and don't have to carry bags in and out of anywhere.

Camper van is great, also visited in 2012, don't miss Great Barrier Reef try & get a trip that includes Whitehaven beach it's so beautiful - so jealous! You'll have a great time

Thank you.
As there will be four of us, two teenagers, hopefully a campervan will be the most economical way to go. We will be visiting the Barrier Reef but want to avoid the tourist excursions. Are there any smaller boats that go out to the Reef.
Good to hear you had a great time
