Hi Folks,
In general how long does it take for a will to complete the transfer of assets?
Here is scenario;
Elderly gentleman farmer passes on and nephewand solicitor are executors.
Assest include house, land and cash.

It depends. It can take several months after a death before people want to deal with assets. Once they start to work on the process, it would usually take several weeks to pull everything together to get to the stage of lodging paperwork in the Probate Office. Below is an indicator as to how long grants are taking to process. Once Probate issues, things can be tidied up pretty quickly but it all depends on the specific circumstances.

Mmmm, an optimistic indicator!

Anywhere from 3 months to years, depending on how willing non solicitor executor is, how quick beneficiaries are to respond to fill in instruction and prior gift forms, how much of a backlog there is with revenue ( income tax), whether there is a dept of social welfare backlog, if there are title issues,if there is a claim against estate, etc etc
